Upcycling beaded Purses: Make your own miniature Chair Workshop

A beaded purse and pieces of gold/silver/patterned fabric are provided for each attendee. Or you may bring your own purse and pieces of small embellished or patterned fabric.

£65 (Afternoon tea is included. And Caribbean cocktails will be served at the end of the Workshop.)

Measurements of the Chair: Height: 14cm, Width: 9cm, Depth: 6.5cm.
The scale is 1:10

All materials are provided: One purse per attendee, extra fabric offcuts, foam, Plywood, adhesive, Gift Bag.

Uplifting female R'n'B music will play in the background during the Workshop.

Schedule:

12pm - 12.30pm
There are plenty of beaded purses to choose from. On entrance, please choose your purse. Cold and refreshing home-made Caribbean Sorrel drink will be served.

12.30pm - 3.30pm
The Workshop begins! I show you how to make your chair and upcycle your purse for the covering. Learn some new techniques to apply to your own creative projects.

3.30pm - 4pm
A 'vintage' Afternoon tea will be served. Choose from vegetarian or non-veggie granary bread sandwiches, tea pastries and cakes.



4pm - 5.30pm
We'll finish the final stage of making our chairs.

5.30pm - 6pm
Caribbean Cocktails will be served. I will give you a tour of my dollshouse making Studio and explain my creative process and how I start designing my dollshouse furniture. I'll explain why I founded The Black Girl Dollshouse Club (which is open to all). Listen to my ideas on how to make your own miniatures based on objects with personal heritage and value that you own.

The chair's design is based on the 1700s Easy Chair on display at the Museum of the Home (below). All Workshop materials are either reusable or recyclable.
